We are excited to announce the acquisition of our first artwork to be purchased through the Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery Acquisition Fund.
Central Victorian artist David Frazer’s ‘Slow Boat’, 2016, linocut, 120 x 180cm, is an epic single colour relief print. This work builds on the gallery’s collection of Australian works on paper, prints and drawings, and is an outstanding example of Frazer’s skill as a printmaker and artist. His practice deals with alienation, irony, the human condition, and the environment and, is both impressive and disquieting.
David’s work is represented in major galleries across Australia and internationally including National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of NSW, Art Gallery of South Australia, Australian War Memorial, State Library of Victoria and is a regular finalist in the Swan Hill National Print and Drawing Awards. “Slow Boat” will be the first artwork by David Frazer to enter our collection.
We sincerely thank the contributors to the fund which has made this purchase possible.
