Clare Bowditch to headline impressive Go North festival lineup

Council is delighted to be presenting The Go North Arts Festival, in Swan Hill this September.

Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery Director, Ian Tully said it was an exciting event; sure to encourage people to the Swan Hill Region and immerse themselves in our local Arts and Entertainment culture.

“The Go North Arts Festival will offer something for everyone. Come along and sit back and relax to music, get messy in fun art workshops and rub shoulders with some of Australia’s top artists.

“It will be set on the banks of our mighty Murray River in Swan Hill – the perfect location for a Music and Art festival,” Mr Tully said.

Mr Tully said The Go North Arts Festival would kick off on Friday, 2 September with the official opening and announcement of the Swan Hill National Print and Drawing Awards, with live music from River Boat Quintet.

“There will be a number of art workshops throughout the day on Saturday, 3 September followed by the main concert event.

“The concert will be held at Riverside Park from 4pm with Benny Walker, Freya Josephine Hollick, the Northern Folk and of course, headline act Clare Bowditch.

“This is a really exciting event for our region, putting the arts firmly back on our map,” Mr Tully said.

Headline performer Clare Bowditch is no stranger to the spotlight, a musician, broadcaster, actor, speaker, entrepreneur, and has just recently became a top-ten, best-selling author.

“It is a real privilege for Swan Hill to have someone of Clare’s calibre, performing at this event” he said.

Mr Tully said The Go North Festival was set to become an annual event for the region.

This event is funded in collaboration between Creative Victoria and Swan Hill Rural City Council.
